While geothermal heating and cooling has come to public attention in the last few years, the technology has been around for over fifty years. Geothermal heat pumps are a proven source of reliable, efficient and convenient home comfort. Since one system handles temperature control year round, there’s only one system to maintain. With no condensers or burners to clean, the system is nearly maintenance free. With periodic checks and filter changes, you’ll enjoy quiet, clean and reliable heating and cooling.
AA Service Co‘s area-wide recognition was earned through extensive training in the technical aspects of equipment installation, maintenance and repair. Our technicians receive continued education specific to geothermal technology and products, and are committed to a standard of excellence in everything we do. From sound business practices to fulfilling warranty obligations, we continue to offer our customers the very best investment for their energy dollar.
Our entire line of geothermal products is recognized as leaders in the HVAC industry, providing unmatched efficiency, durability and operational noise. AA Service Co geothermal solutions are the pinnacle of these high standards. The heat pumps we install use between 25% to 50% less electricity than a conventional HVAC system, deliver all-season comfort, and withstand the test of time and weather. The lifespan of the indoor component is estimated at about 25 years, and 50 years for the underground loop.
How Geothermal Works
Geothermal heating and cooling systems draw from an unfailing energy source available in your own backyard. The earth absorbs nearly half of all solar energy and remains constant at temperatures between fifty and seventy degrees Fahrenheit. Geothermal heating and cooling utilizes this consistent temperature to transfer energy between your home and the earth through an underground loop system. A very small amount of electricity is required to transfer heat to and from the ground to your home. On average, the system can produce four units of energy for every unit of electricity needed to power the system.
During winter months, water flowing inside the sealed loop system absorbs heat from the earth and carries it to the geothermal unit, where it is compressed to a higher temperature and delivered to your indoor system for circulation. During summer, heat is extracted from your home into the cooler earth through the loop system. Your home will remain at a comfortable and consistent temperature year round. And since no fossil fuels are involved in the process, there is no threat caused by combustion, and no concern over flames, fumes, odors or carbon monoxide. These systems are clean, safe and promote healthy indoor air quality.
Geothermal & The Environment
Geothermal is recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency as the most environmentally safe, cost-effective heating and cooling system on the market. Although the initial cost of installation is significantly higher than traditional HVAC equipment, you’ll benefit from greatly reduced utility bills and annual maintenance costs. The savings can easily cover the cost of installation, and will normally pay for itself in three to five years.
